HDP: Rojava Revolution makes common life possible for peoples 2021-07-19 16:40:41   ANKARA - In a statement on the Rojava Revolution, which has entered its nineth year, HDP Central Executive Board emphasized that the revolution made a common life possible for all peoples and said: ‘’The Rojava Revolution is an important historical experience for the peoples, as an inspiration for the Middle East revolution, it is a revolution that must be preserved and perpetuated today.’’   Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board has published a written statement in Kurdish and Turkish on the nineth anniversary of the Rojava Revolution. In the statement, it was pointed out that the revolution that started in Rojava on July 19, 2012 was a major turning point in the history of the Middle East, Syria and the Kurds, and that it still affects the developments in the region in terms of its results and repercussions.   ‘Social model building has become hope for the peoples of Syria’   In the statement, which mentioned that it has been 10 years since 2011, when the Syrian civil war started, and that the Syrian peoples have paid a great price, the following statements were made: ‘’On the one side, the Assad regime, which usurps and denies all kinds of democratic and fundamental rights of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region, and on the other hand the jihadists, who deem proper all kinds of inhuman practices to the peoples. In the intervening time, they have not been able to offer a new model of coexistence that guarantees the peace of the peoples of the region. On July 19, 2012, the Kurdish people and the peoples of Northern Syria laid the foundation for a third way of determine their own destiny against the authoritarian and monist understanding of the Assad regime and the inhumane practices of the jihadists. This new social model building, built on equality and democratic principles and based on the freedom of women, peoples, belief groups and youth, later overflowed from Rojava and became a new hope for all Syrian peoples.’’   The continuation of the statement, which emphasized that the revolution made a common life possible not only for the Kurds but for all peoples:   ‘’The Rojava Revolution is a revolution of peoples, women, beliefs and youth. Due to this founding and alternative new life character and claim, the revolution has been subjected to attacks, invasion attempts and blockades by both the Assad regime, jihadists, Erdoğan regime and its regional partners in the past eight years. As a result of these invasion attempts, attempts were made to suffocate the revolution. As a result of these invasion attempts, revolution was tried to suffocate. Efrîn, Serêkanî and Girêspî were occupied with the jihadist groups, with the consent and encouragement of imperialist and regional powers. Thousands of people were killed, hundreds of thousands of people were displaced from their homes, crimes against humanity were committed by population engineering on the demographic structure of the region. The natural wealth and historical assets of the region were plundered.   Rojava Revolution was greeted   On its nineth anniversary, we salute the Rojava Revolution, which has shown to all the peoples of the world that a third way is possible in the region. The Rojava revolution, as an important historical experience, is a revolution that needs to be preserved and perpetuated as an inspiration for the Middle East revolution for the peoples. Therefore, the crowning of this revolution is a great historical duty not only for the Kurdish people and the peoples of Northern Syria, but for all peoples of the world. We will continue to be in solidarity with the Kurdish people and the peoples of Syria, who are fighting for freedom, equality and democracy against war and solutionlessness.’’
