‘Breaking isolation is responsibility of all of us, not just prisoners’ 2021-07-06 10:05:59       BINGOL / ELAZIG - DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, who continues her contacts in Bingöl and Elazığ, drew attention to the isolation and said: ‘’The prisoners are on a hunger strike for more than 200 days to break the isolation and end the oppression in the prison. This is not the only responsibility of political prisoners who have nothing but their bodies. It is responsibility of all of us.’’   Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Berdan Öztürk, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chairs Saliha Aydeniz and Keskin Bayındır visited Zeynelli village in Yayladere district of Bingöl and Okçular and Sarıcan villages in Elazığ's Karakoçan district. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-chair Arzu Fırat, Karakoçan District Co-chair Veysi Sarıtağ and HDP MP Erdal Aydemir accompanied the delegation. Citizens welcomed the DTK and DBP delegation at the entrance of the district center with enthusiasm.   ‘The only reason for the crisis is the Kurdish problem’   Speaking during the visit, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz said that the only reason for ignorance, denial, destruction, and crises is the Kurdish problem. Pointing to the standardisation policies of the Republic of Turkey, Saliha said: ‘’The mentality that you will become a Turk, a Sunni Islam is imposed. Everyone else is the enemy, the other, who must be destroyed and murdered…This policy has been maintained until today. The fascist alliance formed by the AKP and MHP for the last six years is fed by this century-old politics. This system is a system without peoples, beliefs, women, and youth. All policies start from Imralı Prison. The Imralı system is a special one, one of a kind in the world. Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been fighting against this system in a single cell there for 22 years. The trustees, assimilation, destrcution, femicides and the set people against to each other that started from here, take the ground from the isolation policy.’’   ‘Breaking the isolation is responsibility of all of us’   Underlining that it is necessary to fight first to break the isolation, Saliha noted that the society breathes with the PKK Leader's rhetoric, thoughts, and philosophy. Saliha said: ‘’We went through the 2013-2015 period together. When Mr. Abdullah Öcalan expressed his views on the Middle East, Turkey, and Kurdistan, we all saw together the basis that this problem would be solved by democratic methods. Because they fear democratic ground, they deepen the solutionlessness and insist on war and isolation. With this isolation, the whole of Turkey has been turned into an open prison. Prisoners in prison face inhumane treatment. Prisoners are on hunger strike for more than 200 days to break the isolation and end the oppression in the prison. This is not the only responsibility of political prisoners who have nothing but their bodies. It is responsibility of all of us.’’   ‘There must be people in the struggle’   Expressing that there has been a great pressure on the people for the last six years, Saliha continued: ‘’There is nothing left that these people have not experienced in the last six years. Despite this, the people filled all the spaces on Newroz and March 8 this year, giving the message that they are still pursuing the freedom struggle and still not giving up on their status, language, and geography. That is why we, politicians, as the institutions of this people, travel to all areas and meet with our people. We have read this message, the struggle that we should walk with this message must be the people. We see that very clearly.’’
