İmralı application from lawyers and families 2021-06-11 15:08:56     ISTANBUL - PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's family, lawyers and defensor applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office with a request for a meeting.   Mazlum Dinç, İbrahim Bilmez, Newroz Uysal and Serbay Köklü, the lawyers of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under severe isolation conditions in İmralı High-Security F-Type Prison for 22 years, made a new application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, requesting a meeting with their client.   Abdullah Öcalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan and his defensor Mazlum Dinç and other detainees in İmralı, Ömer Hayri Konar's brother Ali Konar, Hamili Yıldırım's brother Polat Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş's sister Melihe Çetin also applied for a meeting through their lawyers.   Applications are left unanswered   Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office imposed a six-month visit ban on lawyers on September 23, 2020, on the grounds of the "Road Map" prepared by Abdullah Öcalan in addition to his defense submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2009. Again, in the applications made by the lawyers, it was revealed that a new disciplinary punishment was given to Abdullah Öcalan in January 2021.   Although the ban ended on March 23, neither a positive nor a negative response to the applications made by lawyers are received. Rezan Sarıca and Newroz Uysal, one of Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers, were able to meet with their clients on May 2-22, June 12-18, and August 7, 2019, after eight years.   The conversation was interrupted   Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under heavy isolation conditions in İmralı High-Security F-Type Closed Prison for 22 years, was given the right to speak by phone for the first time on April 27, 2020. Abdullah Öcalan had a phone conversation with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, after the public's concerns about some of the posts on social media grew. However, Mehmet Öcalan announced that this conversation was interrupted.
