HDP: ‘Face with embarrassment of Armenian Genocide’ 2021-04-24 12:38:32   ANKARA - Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board made a statement on the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide; "The crime that has not been faced repeated, the crime that has not been faced moved to today. The great crime has been unpunished, discrimination and hate crimes became ordinary".   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board issued a written statement on the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The statement titled "Face with the embarrassment of the Armenian Genocide", was published in Turkish and Kurdish.   Anatolia was left without a Christian   On April 24, 1915, reminding that 250 Armenian intellectuals and politicians were taken from their homes and sent to exile and massacred by the Committee of Union and Progress, and it was stated that this date was the day the Armenian Genocide began. The statement emphasized that the Armenian people were massacred, and Anatolia was left without a Christian. It was noted that the property and cultural assets changed hands by public will after the genocide.   'The crime that has not been faced repeated'   In the statement, pointed out that Turkey has not faced the Armenian Genocide for 106 years and mentioned; "The crime that has not been faced repeated, the crime that has not been faced moved to today. The great crime has been unpunished, discrimination and hate crimes became ordinary. Firstly, the Armenian Genocide is a humanitarian, legal, and social issue, it is an issue that needs to be faced fairly and accepted today. The issue is not an issue that can be sacrificed to both domestic political profits and political positions in foreign politics. The Armenian Genocide is a historical, social and humanitarian issue, so it is unacceptable to be raised because of the experienced relations and political conjuncture with Turkey in international politics". It was stated that the Armenian Genocide took place in these lands and justice should be provided in these lands.   'We commemorate those who killed with respect and mercy'   The statement underlined that genocide has become a symbol of a politics that dark centers and massacring lines in the state at the beginning of the century are deemed proper to the peoples, mentioned: "The codes of the massacre politics, which are deemed proper to the Greek, Syriac, Chaldean, Kurdish, Alevi and Êzidî peoples and that are continued on today, are very important in terms of showing the nature of the genocide mechanism. To face this massacre and destruction mechanism is essential to Turkey's future and common life together. On its 106th anniversary, we feel in our hearts the genocide, great catastrophe, and human tragedy committed against the Armenians, who are the ancient people of these lands. We commemorate those who killed with respect and mercy".
