Eyşe Efendi: A Leader of a people cannot be kept in isolation 2021-01-07 15:13:03   Dîcle Demhat   KOBANE- Emphasizing the importance of resistance and solidarity to end to the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Eyşe Efendi, Co-chair of the Euphrates Region Martyr Family Association, said, ''A leader of a people cannot be kept in isolation. International human rights courts act in the interests of states. Human rights organizations should fulfill their duties against rights violations in prisons''   The aggravated isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is increasing day by day. Abdullah Öcalan, who has been in Imrali High Security Prison for 21 years, has been subjected to numerous violations of rights. After the last 6-month lawyer visiting ban on Abdullah Öcalan, a 6-month ban was imposed on the right to use a phone call on October 10. The isolation is accepted as a 'crime against humanity' around the world. Isolation has been deepening with each passing day in Turkey. PKK and PAJK prisoners have been on an indefinite-alternating hunger strike since November 27 to end the isolation and violations in prisons.   The hunger strike, which has entered its 42nd day with the ninth group to end the isolation and violations of rights in prisons, continues to be supported with hunger strikes in Northern and Eastern Syria, Maxmur, and Greece.   Eyşe Efendi, Co-chair of Euphrates Region Martyr Family Institution, evaluated the hunger strikes launched against the isolation against Abdullah Öcalan, the recent developments, and the pressures against the Kurdish people, to our agency.   'The Kurdish people are rewriting their own history'   Drawing attention to the resistance of the Kurdish people together with Abdullah Öcalan in the history of the Middle East and to rewrite their own history, Eyşe said: “Today the Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been recognized by the peoples of the Middle East and by the world. Especially after the Arab Spring, the peoples in Northern and Eastern Syria on the basis of the Leader's philosophy recognized the Leader well. With the system formed in Rojava, the peoples have embraced the Leader ”   ‘We came to these days with the philosophy of our leadership’   Noting that Abdullah Öcalan's books were printed with the approval of international courts, Eyşe said, “All states have recognized the Leader's philosophy. The Leader clearly describes himself and his philosophy in his books. The Leader's projects on the Middle East are clear and involve all peoples. Since the Leader's projects can destroy the hegemonic state systems, hegemonic states impose a heavy isolation on the Leader. The Kurdish people expanded their field of struggle with the Leader's philosophy. Attacks were carried out against the Kurdish people by attacting Abdullah Öcalan to make commit genocide on the Kurds. With the isolation of the Leader, an attempt is made to separate the people from the Leader. We have come to this day with the Leadership philosophy. They cannot keep distance between us and our Leader. The Leader of a people cannot be kept under severe isolation. If every prisoner has rights, the Leader should be given those rights too. If today state systems talk about justice, law, equality and democracy, with what rights do they keep a Leader of a people in isolation? Where are the rights of political prisoners? What rights do prisoners have to prevent violations of rights in prisons? These rights should be given to the Leader. ”   ‘Only those who resist for freedom serve justice’   Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) activist Leyla Güven started a hunger strike on November 8, 2018 and that the CPT (Torture Prevention Committee) had a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan during this process.  Eyşe said, “The CPT met with the Leader but did not report anything properly. International human rights organizations have remained silent against the isolation on the Leader. No action was taken by any human rights organization against the isolation and rights violations for the Leader in İmralı Islands. Currently existing human rights organizations and international human rights courts do not fulfill their duties and work in the interests of the state. Only people who resist for freedom are serving  justice. " 'Voices should be raised in the fields'   Noting that many peoples live in North and East Syria, Eyşe said, “Kurdish, Syriac, Assyrian, Armenian, Circassian, Turkmen and Arab peoples live together in the areas of Northern and Eastern Syria. These peoples have embraced the Leader and live on the basis of the Leader's philosophy. They take part in every action taken for the Leader. Arab women and the public, who have reached a certain level with the leadership philosophy, should not remain silent against this isolation. Not only Kurds but Arabs are involved in the plans and projects in the Middle East. We had meetings with many Arab states. The Arab people and other peoples should go to the fields and raise their voices for the Leader. ''   'People abroad should support this action'   Underlining that the actions started for Abdullah Öcalan will continue until they reach their aim, Eyşe emphasized the necessity of the meetings to be made formal. She said,  ''There have been moves and actions for the Leader many times. After each action, talks took place with the Leader once or twice in order to silence the people. But the talks were not formal. After the last meeting, a desired resistance level was not given support enough. Especially people abroad should support this action. Just as in the Leyla Güven period, everyone has embraced it with a single voice, now they should claim with one voice so that the resistance will reach its goal.''   ‘The resistance continues to break the isolation’   Referring to the arrests of those who took part in the administration of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in 2014, Eyşe finally said: '' They had great support in the Kobanê resistance in four parts of Kurdistan, especially in Northern Kurdistan. They held vigils at the public border for days. Thousands of young people from Northern Kurdistan broke the borders and took part in the Kobanê resistance. HDP's deputies were arrested in Turkey for the support they have given to Kobani resistance. We, as the people of Kobani, will stand up against the attacks in Northern Kurdistan. We will never leave the people of Northern Kurdistan alone. Especially as a woman, I salute the resistance of Leyla Güven and she once again demonstrated her will of women with her struggle. Currently, the resistance continues in prisons to break the isolation on the Leader. We will be the followers of this struggle. "
