"Now to the Purple Mobilization"

	İSTANBUL - HDP Young Women Coordination has recently started the "Purple Mobilization" campaign that they will continue until 8 March. Coordination member Dicle pointed out that the campaign had the quality of self-defense and gave the message: “The government has waged a war against women. We will carry out our struggle by starting an organized mobilization&self-defense”.

	 

	With the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, the male-dominated power is in a stalemate. There are women's gains in the target of the male-dominated government. Attacks on women's gains are increasing day by day. In addition to the attacks, there are increasing massacres of women. The voices of women are trying to be suppressed with the operation against political women. Women draw attention to the importance of solidarity by improving their self-defense against all these attacks. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Young Women Coordination started a "Now Purple Mobilization" campaign that they will continue until 8 March. The coordination will announce the activities about the campaign via social media accounts in the coming days.

	 

	Coordination members Esengül Kılıç, Dicle Doğan and Roj Medrin Bor spoke to our agency about the campaign.

	 

	'We will be a solution to the problems faced by women'

	 

	With the campaign, stating that they aim to be a solution source for the problems faced by women, Esengül said, “We are trying to establish women's universities and respond to all the problems faced by worker women. We aim to create a strong women's organization against male-state violence, abuse and rape."

	 

	The government tries to break the young women's organization

	 

	Drawing attention to the government's policies towards women during the pandemic process, Esengül said '' The government again applied all its fascist, sexist policies. And again they massacred young women. The government has turned the pandemic into an excuse to break women's organization. We are especially trying to strengthen the young women's organization that is wanted to be disrupted ”.

	 

	'Now we are developing our self-defense with Purple Mobilization'

	 

	Dicle said that gender inequality continues to maintain its place in society, the 21st century is a century of change and transformation against this. She said that women struggle as the biggest part of this transformation. She underlined that the government is continuing its policies of massacring women and that women's struggle against.  ‘‘This is an example for all women. Explaining that women have developed self-defense methods against all the pressures’ she said. Dicle stated that they aim to develop their self-defense against male-state violence and to increase their organized struggle with the campaign.

	 

	'Women are wanted to be alienated from their own identity'

	 

	Dicle stated that in science, art, philosophy and many other fields, women are forced to survive within the patterns that men established. She added that they aimed to alienate women to the woman's identity. "With Purple Mobilization, we aim to teach women these; women are valuable, have free will, and especially young women can express themselves comfortably in society."

	 

	'We will create a space where we can create our free life'

	 

	Stating that women wrote the history of the resistance of women against the roles created by the male-dominated system, Dicle continued as follows: “The government is in a war against women. As women, we will carry out our struggle by starting organized mobilization and self defense. We want to create a space where we can create our own free life, not the life which is established by men's mentality. ”

	 

	'We will not be women shaped by men'

	 

	Stating that they resisted the masculine mentality and its sanctions, Roj underlined that they do not be women shaped by the male power. Roj said that they are also calling for this to women. Roj also underlined that they strengthen these calls within the scope of the campaign.
