Let's resist together! 2020-12-17 13:23:32   BİTLİS - Huri Kara, mother of political prisoner Hacer Kara  who is in Kayseri Closed Prison for Women, emphasized that the Turkish State should find a solution to prevent the deaths of hunger strikers in prisons and she wanted the public to support the hunger strikes.   The hunger strike which started on November 27 by prisoners in Turkey's and region's prisons to abolish the continued isolation of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and end the right violations in prisons continues  by the fifth group and  it's on its 21st day. Huri Kara, the mother of political prisoner Hacer Kara who is  in Kayseri Women's Closed Prison for 3 years, says that she blames the state for the problems in the country, and saying, “This persecution does not end. Everyone must resist these oppressions by being in the streets, and standing up together.”she said.   "Prisoners cannot explain the rights violations by phone calls"   Kayseri Women's Closed Prison) stated that she has seen her daughter only once since her arrest. Drawing attention to the unhealthy conditions in prison, Huri said that the ten-minute phone call time once a week was not enough. Huri said, “What can my daughter tell in ten minutes, what problem can she say? The phone call right ends until she asks  'How are you doing? Are you okay?' . Very little of their needs are accepted. As phone calls the guards are waiting by them. My daughter cannot comfortably speak out about the rights violations in prison because she is being oppressed. We cannot ask because of it. How about the situations between the four walls, we don't know. Prisons are very bad. They are subjected to a lot of oppressions. Management cuts down on what they eat and drink. They are not allowed to speak comfortably even on the phone, ”she said.   ‘The guards apply oppression on the prisoners’   Noting that electricity and water expenses are taken from prisoners in prison, Huri said, “We don't know what they eat or drink in prisons. The state makes the whole world think "The state takes care of prisoners" but this is not true. Their families look after the prisoners. The families pay for all of their needs. They also make prisoners pay for other expenses in prison. We do not know the conditions of their cleaning, health problems, and their clothes. Our children cannot express their needs due to the pressure of the guards. This is not true what they did. We are human too. They have children like we have. Do they do this to their own children? I want them to experience what we have experienced. So maybe they understand us ”   Stating that the letters and clothes they sent to the prison were not given to the prisoners, Huri said that the prison administration interfered in everything and  “The letters prisoners sent do not reach us. We send them books, they are not delivered, the clothes we send are sent back. There is no justification for these practices. They don't say anything. We don't know anything about their situation. Our children are subjected to such oppression that they started a hunger strike. They don't even have spaces to breath between the four walls. They can't see anyone. The state puts these people in prison and leaves them without food and water. This is very wrong. Unfortunately,  I think  these hunger strikes will result in deaths. It is enough. The state needs to find a solution before deaths ”she said.   "The state is responsible for the problems in the country"   “Some people are committing suicide, ome people are starving in this country. The state is responsible for all problems in the country ”said Huri. Calling for support for the hunger strikes started  by political prisoners in prisons, Huri said “Everyone needs to resist and go out on the streets. We have to resist altogether. We need to support our children on hunger strikes. Otherwise, these oppressions, insults and cruelty will never end ” she said.
