"It is our historical duty to say no to isolation"

	ANKARA - Speaking about the political prisoners who started a hunger strike to abolish the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Revolutionary Party President Elif Torun Öneren pointed out that the Imrali isolation was the beginning of all other isolation and said, “Saying 'No to isolation!' and raising our voices on this issue, solidarity with the political prisoners inside and being their voice "are our historical duties."

	 

	The hunger strike which started on November 27 by PKK and PAJK members imprisoned in Turkey's and region's prisons to abolish the continued systematic isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, to make govenment to lets Abdullah Öcalan see his lawyers and family members, and end the right violations in prisons continues. The hunger strike action's taken by the fourth group and  it's on its 18th day.

	 

	Commenting on the prisoners who started the hunger strike to abolish isolation in Imrali, Devrimci Party (DP) President Elif Torun Öneren emphasized that the hunger strikes can only be ended by abolish the isolation.

	 

	" Kurdish people are wanted to be isolated"

	 

	Elif started her speech by saluting the political prisoners who are on hunger strike action against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, underlined that for years an aggravated isolation has been imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı Prison. Emphasizing that this isolation is an isolation imposed on the Kurdish people through Abdullah Öcalan, Elif said, “This is an attitude taken against the Kurdish people. The Kurdish people are wanted to be isolated in this way. Under the pretext of pandemic conditions, the AKP and MHP fascist bloc impose bans on family and lawyer views, and force the prisoners inside to live in inhumane conditions. The reason for the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı is the claim of "disciplinary crime". However, according the press this disciplinary crime has not been reported to the family for 2 months and the family is notified after the right to denial in the legal process has passed. This is a big humanitarian crime, "she said.

	 

	 “The isolation in İmralı is the beginning of other isolations“

	 

	The conditions of the prisons in Turkey and region are worsened increasingly , Elif noted that these conditions feed violence and isolation, she also drew attention to the situation of ill prisoners.Stating that their eviction  was prevented even though they could not sustain their lives alone, Elif stated that the lives of the sick prisoners were taken from their hands and continued as follows: “The government punish them with death. These people are not in a position to take care of themselves. This is not isolation but it is murder. In the face of this picture, the isolation applied on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı began to be applied over all (political) prisoners. These are the isolations applied inside and there are also the isolations applied outside. There are the isolation imposed on women at home, the isolation imposed on the workers by the employer in the workplaces, on all socialists, and on LGBTI +. The isolation that's started in İmralı is the beginning of other isolations. These long-standing isolations show us that fascism is also intensifying. It is reflection of how much the AKP and MHP fascist alliance intensifies the oppression."

	 

	"It is our historical duty to be in solidarity with the political prisoners inside"

	 

	Emphasizing that isolation is a crime against humanity and is torture, Elif stated that the isolation aims to isolate a person from other people and to make people to  be perished and disappeared alone. Noting that everyone should say "No to isolation!" and raise their voices on this issue, Elif said, "It is our historical duty to support the political prisoners inside and to be their voice.  Resist to isolation will also cause the decline of fascism. The hunger strike started by the prisoners is a honorary resistance. It is the humanitarian duty and historical responsibility of everyone outside, women, men, workers, victims, people affected by indirectly of isolation…  Standing out of this will make us face more fascism. We have to be the voice the hunger strikers in order to end the fascism, isolation conditions and oppression of AKP and MHP governmen. We must stand up to support the hunger strike action to end a social isolation. ”.

	 

	"We were hearing the footsteps of fascism, now we are living its conditions"

	 

	Saying “We have to prevent hunger strikes before deaths,” Elif expressed again that is the historical duty. Underlining that the resistance will not end before end isolation, Elif continued her words as follows: “These voices will not be cut. We, as the Revolutionary Party, are ready to speak out with oppositionals' voices  in society. The power has now taken the place of the judiciary and we are also faced with a 'one man' regime that can change the laws alone. We have been hearing the footsteps of fascism with an increasing staff system for 18 years, we are now living the conditions of fascism. As government lost its power focused on wars. As people understood the true face of government, this time the government  started to develop different policies. A society of fear is wanted to be created. Now they have nowhere to hold on any more, they are making reforms and intensifying the detentions. Power is face to face  with resisting people.

	 

	'Isolation is a problem that concerns the whole world'

	 

	Saying all peoples of Turkey should resist  against the isolation, Elif said “The Kurdish people are targeted against all these. The biggest oppression is done through the HDP and socialists. It is very hard to solve the damage caused by the government to our people and our geography in every way, and  psychology of people ”.
