November 18, 1910: 119 suffragettes arrested in the UK 2019-11-18 14:52:21   In Britain, the suffragettes struggling for the right to vote for women were subjected to police violence in front of the House of Commons and 119 were arrested.   During the events called ‘‘Black Friday’’, women were dragged and beaten by the police. Images in the press caused massive public reactions. In Britain, the struggle of the suffragettes continued until July 2, 1928,  until the law allowing all women over the age of 21 to vote.
